Expressing himself in mumbles, heart in a tumble, stomach in a freefall, after all that they had been through, it was all an afterthought that he didn’t want to remember, weather like December in each and every member of his body, now it’s just coffee, tea, beer, and cigarettes, a little bit of weed on the weekends, wake up cold with a whole in his chest, go to sleep with an emptiness inside his head, a deep darkness which his eyes can’t adjust to, surrounded by family and friends that just won’t do, he pushes them away, no one can come in, the lights are off, the blinds are shut, the fire within is a dim flicker, in danger of being blown out, outside feels like in, and inside feels like out, nature is the only thing that seems to love him now, other people just seem to confuse him somehow, he sits in a chair, listening but wanting to cry or shout, but there’s nowhere to go and time feels like it froze

On the other side of the story, on the other side of the fence, there’s a girl that’s also feelin pretty bad, sometimes both people end up sad from a bad breakup, you don’t know why it’s not working, you just know it’s not, all that time together brought you real close, and the separation hurts, no matter who’s responsible, when she told him she teared up, hurting him almost made her feel worse, occasionally he leaves her messages, saying maybe they can get back together as friends, but she knows she can’t, she knows he still has feelings he can’t hide, and she doesn’t want to lead him on with a one night for old times sake, so it’s 808s and heartbreak, let the music heal her pain, tryin to reclaim the person she was way back when, feels like it was so long ago, like she can’t even remember it, so many lifetimes since then, but slowly her passion within reawakens, the hope for the next one begins, the clock starts back up, and time is movin again
