Slow down, you’re moving too fast, I put cats on blast, expose they weak ass, it ain’t friendly round me, no games, sick of lames, seekin the fame, ridin round like some trained monkeys, false advertising, promoting capitalism, they get demoted real quick, I’m the boss, under new management, I banish kids from the establishment, flashy and fly is so not it, it’s sickening, I’m dirty, grimy, a hippie, tryna grow something, plant seeds, support the community, infuse some beauty, spontaneity, I’m flippin it around, what’s up is down, cool is wack now, not being smart is stupid, conscious movement, let’s do this, I’m all about bumpin beats, but can we please get some real emcees, hip-hop is so boring these days, it all sounds the same, and no one has anything to say, and if you do you don’t get played, the system has made quite the fool of you, all you dudes look the same, throw on some dorky glasses with the thick black frames, it’s sad man, I’m not proud to be an American, I’m just a man, disarm the world, and I’ll take my chances, I’m rantin and rhymin, spittin and shinin, a dirty piece of coal that the world molded into a diamond, cause I’m under intense pressure and scrutiny, it’s you, it’s me, it’s everybody, it’s everything, I write about what I see, what I believe, let’s team up, cause I’m tired of tryin to do it on my own, I feel so alone, there’s no reason for all these spaces that separate us, all these walls that enclose us, I’m moldin a brand new piece of clay, it ain’t gon’ be easy but it ain’t as hard as you think either, I’ll make you a believer, I’m the truth comin out these speakers, call me Paul Pierce, and I will pierce your ears with this burning spear for y’all to hear, I leave a hater in fear and a coward in tears, cheers to me for bein the best, jeers to you for bein bad for our health, I’m tryin to uplift the mind, grit and grind, find a place in the sunshine, and just chill, I will prevail, love conquers all, in the end hate falls, to live evil is to not live at all, you got it all backwards, think about it, you need to slow down and breath, you need oxygen, you can’t live without it, my verses are fire, my verses are flame, they float like water, flood your mental plane, soak into the earth so the seeds and trees can grow, branch out to the people, nourish and feed you, your worldview has been skewed by a lifetime of being misinformed by the news, trapped in a cubicle, with no dirt under your cuticles, sterile and futile, boring and uneventful, you are resentful of everything, everybody, gotta try something new, get with the times, find a new outlet, cause they got you plugged in to all their channels, flippin the same dial, eyes glued, butt too, feet fixed, no movement whatsoever, it ain’t gon’ get better unless we care, somebody’s got to, is that someone you?, ask yourself the question, what am I doing here?, who am I?, what do I really want to accomplish?, what is really important?, isn’t there more, something else out there besides the simple pleasures, the quick fixes, will big dividends really end all your problems and make your dreams come true?, where do you see yourself when you’re looking back?, what you gon’ be lookin at?, what will they remember you for?, I’m not sure if I’m gonna be knockin on heaven’s door, but I do believe in more, an extra after period, call it overtime, when the divine is realized, karma cannot be defied, eventually you must face the music, I make these songs to break the illusions, awake the confused ones, break the trance that got us distracted and snoozin, cause you know I ain’t losin, I’m winnin, get on the gravy train or sit on the sideline wishin, I’m not glitichin cause I’m not a computer, all organic, biodegradable, non-polluter, sure sure, I might be crazy, let that be the excuse, it seems you’re full of them, I ain’t sayin I got all the answers, just some of them, and maybe with a little help from some friends we can make some progress, not sure why I made this, it just felt right, I was sober with a very clear mind, I felt healthy, thankful to be alive, everyone should be as lucky as I am today, I hope you can relate, I make this to change the fate of those who might not make it, unless we stand up and do something with what we got, even if it might not seem like that much, but if we put it all together it’s gonna add up, an overwhelming force that can’t be stopped, 10 million protested the Iraq war around the world, that’s a start, that’s a good number of people on my side, people’s army we fight with our minds and our hearts, it may sound cheesy but we believe we can win this war, I been poor my whole life, I know exactly what it feels like, I’m ready to fight and sacrifice, I don’t believe in violence but I’m not passive, I’m active, get ready for a chain reaction, the domino effect, once we get the hundredth monkey it’s over, I might take a break but I come back better, wiser, youth gotta take over, recapture the power and knock these cowards off their pedestal, their rule is over, we need real leaders, that care about the people, let’s take it slow, day by day growth, make good decisions and learn self control
